Recommended reading, language patterns, and reference materials for graduates.

The core library

Every IBPH practitioner is expected to know Yapko's Trancework. It is the reference we test against, and the shared vocabulary the institute uses. Alongside it, our reading list covers the Enneagram, face reading, and a pragmatic view of hypnosis without ritual.

Language patterns worth drilling

Affirmative phrasing: describe what you want present, not what you want gone. Pacing and leading: three verifiable statements before one suggestion. Presuppositions of change carried inside ordinary sentences. Sensory-matched language chosen from the client's own VAKOG dominance.

Drill these aloud until they arrive without effort. Under pressure you will use only what is automatic.

Session scaffolding

Intake and outcome framing, profiling and calibration, induction, deepening, the change work itself, future rehearsal, reorientation, and a short debrief. Keep the scaffold, vary everything inside it according to the person in front of you.
