Hypnotherapy for Bulimia

Adjunctive hypnotherapy support for bulimia, alongside licensed clinical treatment.

How We See It

Bulimia carries genuine medical risk and requires clinical care. Within that care, hypnotherapy can address the emotional pressure that builds before an episode and the shame that follows it.

The cycle has a structure, and each part of the structure is a place where something different can happen.

What People Usually Describe

  • A pressure builds until the episode feels inevitable
  • The compensating behavior brings relief and then distress
  • Secrecy is central
  • Attempts to stop by rule-setting have made it worse

How We Make the Change

Parts Negotiation

Sitting down with the part of you that wants the change and the part that keeps protecting the old behavior, and getting them to agree on terms.

The part managing pressure and the part paying the cost are brought into one conversation.

Reframing

Changing the meaning attached to an event or urge so the same facts stop producing the same reaction.

Shame is taken out of the loop that sustains the cycle.

Timeline Therapy

Revisiting the moment a pattern was installed and giving that younger self what was missing then.

The origin of the control strategy is resolved, at your team's pace.

Sessions are held online over Zoom, run 45–90 minutes, and are billed at a flat $200. Your first session includes an additional 30-minute intake interview at no charge.

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for licensed medical or mental health treatment. IBPH practitioners do not diagnose conditions or prescribe medication, and we work alongside your care team.
