Hypnotherapy for Childhood Trauma

Hypnotherapy for childhood trauma — updating conclusions made by a child who had no other options.

How We See It

A child makes sense of what happens with a child's reasoning, and the conclusion drawn then — that you are too much, or not enough, or safest when invisible — keeps running long after the situation ended.

This work goes back to the decision, not just the event, and gives that younger self what was missing at the time.

What People Usually Describe

  • Adult reactions that are the right size for a much younger person
  • A default belief about yourself you can date to childhood
  • Certain relationships bring back an old, familiar dread
  • You defend the people involved and carry the cost yourself

How We Make the Change

Timeline Therapy

Revisiting the moment a pattern was installed and giving that younger self what was missing then.

The earliest event holding the charge is worked with at a distance you control.

Parts Therapy

A structured conversation in trance with the specific part of you that carries the symptom, so it can update what it is doing.

The younger part still on duty is met, thanked and brought to the present.

Reframing

Changing the meaning attached to an event or urge so the same facts stop producing the same reaction.

The child's conclusion is examined with adult information for the first time.

Arrow Technique

A direct, layer-by-layer descent from the surface complaint to the original decision underneath it.

We follow the present-day reaction down to the original sentence beneath it.

Common Questions

Will this recover memories?

We do not go looking for memories. Suggestibility makes that unsafe, and we are explicit about it.

Do I have to talk about details?

No — much of this can be done without describing content.
