Hypnotherapy for Drug Use

Adjunctive hypnotherapy for substance use — working on the driver, not only the substance.

How We See It

Substances are efficient. They deliver a state — numbness, energy, distance, belonging — faster than anything else available. Removing them without providing that state another way leaves a hole that eventually gets refilled.

Our role is to work on what the substance is regulating, in coordination with the medical and clinical care that treats the use itself.

What People Usually Describe

  • Use follows a predictable emotional trigger
  • Periods of abstinence end at the same kind of moment each time
  • The substance is the only reliable route to a particular feeling
  • Shame about use has become part of what maintains it

How We Make the Change

Parts Therapy

A structured conversation in trance with the specific part of you that carries the symptom, so it can update what it is doing.

The protective part that reaches for the substance is heard, dated, and updated.

Timeline Therapy

Revisiting the moment a pattern was installed and giving that younger self what was missing then.

The earlier event that made numbing necessary is resolved so the present-day need reduces.

Reframing

Changing the meaning attached to an event or urge so the same facts stop producing the same reaction.

Shame is reframed out of the loop, since shame reliably increases use rather than reducing it.

Anchoring

Attaching a calm, resourceful state to a physical cue you can use in the moment you need it.

A usable, physical route to steadiness is conditioned for the moments between.
